Tiger Woods finishes his 18-hole warm-up at Royal Troon as he prepares for the 152nd Open Championship.
Before the 152nd Open Championship, Tiger Woods finished an 18-hole practice round at the Royal Troon Golf Club in Scotland.
On Sunday, the 48-year-old took the course after an overnight flight from Florida.
The three-time Open Championship winner reportedly chipped and putted for most of the round.
According to reports, Woods was also attempting to chip out of the deep pot bunkers that encircle the links course greens.
Woods chose to complete the course by himself with his Caddie, Lance Bennett, despite the fact that Tony Finau, Lucas Glover, and Jason Day played in the group before him.
Woods is gearing up for his first tournament at Royal Troon since the 2004 Open Championship where he finished ninth.
He would miss the 2016 tournament while recovering from a back injury.
In five of his previous six significant starts, Woods either withdrew from the race or failed to make the cut.
With a 72-hole total of 16-over 304, he was last among players who made the 36-hole cut at Augusta National after finishing 60th at the Masters in April.
The performance was Woods’ worst 72-hole score in a professional event.
According to ESPN, Woods also recorded multiple triple bogeys in the second round of the PGA Championship at Valhalla, marking the first occurrence in 1,344 PGA Tour rounds.
Additionally, Woods shot a 3-over 73 in the second round of the US Open in June at Pinehurst, and after 36 holes, he was 7-over 147.
Despite playing on a special exemption from the USGA, Woods missed the cut by two strokes. The Open will be Tiger Woods’ last competition.
