Chelsea target Victor Osimhen is set to join Galatasaray on loan after the Napoli striker’s ‘dream move to the Premier League falls through.
Victor Osimhen’s move to the Premier League was his dream, but the Blues were unable to complete the deal.
Following the end of the transfer window, it was reported that Napoli had removed Osimhen from their first-team roster due to a broken relationship with the club.
However, according to Fabrizio Romano, he may be headed out the door now that he has a one-year loan arrangement in place with Turkish powerhouse Galatasaray.
Napoli is believed to cover Osimhen’s salary if he makes the move, and it is now up to the striker to give the go-ahead.
According to Italian journalist Romano, a delegation from Galatasaray is on their way to meet with the 25-year-old to finalise the agreement.
Osimhen now has to choose where he wants to spend his career because Napoli has made it clear that they will not be offering him minutes.
The £38 million acquisition Romelu Lukaku has taken the starting role for the club from the striker, who netted 17 goals for the Italian team.
Shortly after finalising his transfer, the Belgian forward scored on his Napoli debut, assisting Antonio Conte’s team in defeating Parma.
Lukaku began a stunning comeback by coming off the bench and equalising in stoppage time with a low shot inside the box.
Osimhen joined Napoli in 2020, and since then, he has played 133 appearances in all competitions for the Italian powerhouse, scoring 76 goals.
In 2022–2023, he scored 26 league goals in his most outstanding season in blue, leading Napoli to their first championship in thirty-three ye ars.
But despite his 15 league goals the previous season, the Italian team finished in a dismal 10th position and missed out on Europe.
